Easy Way to Make Money F2p Osrs

F2P Money Making Methods

Everytime I started playing Runescape after a break, of course we all question whether we want to jump right into member-land again, or start a brand new fresh account and hit the old-school methods to get one step closer to that bond. For me, I always struggled with F2P money as they really limit what you're able to do, but for those who might not be able to afford membership or simply want to make it to P2P without real money and want to start from stage 1 after tutorial island, I've done some research and found some of my own up-to-date F2P methods that will for sure help you reach your goals!

Please note, almost any items that you pick up from the wilderness or from other methods will not be able to be sold to the Grand Exchange until your account is old enough. You must have either 7 quest points, 24 hours of in-game time, or upgrading to P2P.

Refer to this guide for more information on The Grand Exchange restrictions.

Method 1 – Wilderness Looting

  • No requirements
  • Directly Off Tutorial Island
  • 40-85K Per Hour

Nowadays, wilderness looting really is the risky yet most beneficial method for making money as a free-to-play player, right when you spawn into the main land you can head over to Edgeville and start making money immediately ! Of course, since you're in the wilderness you will run into people who will try and kill you.. But more often than not people aren't worried about the  level 3's running around. Your real competition will be from other looters, so make sure you're ready to click!

Head over to Edgeville and switch to world 308, it's recommended to take some of the starter food from tutorial island with you into the wilderness just incase, but you'll have a supply of your own food within your first hour. It's as simple as that! After switching to world 308, head across the Edgeville wilderness ditch and pick up anything you see! You'd be surprised what some people left behind.. And who knows? Maybe you'll run into that lucky drop!

Method 2 – Buying Woad Leaves

  • 1-5K Coins Required
  • 30-60K per hour

After you get your first bit of starter cash from the method above, I recommend heading over to Falador. If you head into the garden in the North-east part of Falador, you'll run across an NPC named 'Wyson the Gardener'. You can also do this method with as little as 1,000 gold!

Wyson

After you get here with some cash, talk to him and run through the Dialogue. Tell him you would like to buy some Woad Leaves, and when he asks for an offer tell him 20 coins. He will give you two Woad Leaves for every 20 coins you spend. At current Grand Exchange market, two Woad Leaves are worth 104Gp. That's an 84 GP gain for 10 seconds of work!

Depending on how comfortable and quickly you are at getting through Wysons dialogue, your money per hour can differ. I've seen upwards of 35K per hour from this method, and a great start to building that bank.

Method 3 – Making Chocolate Dust

  • No Requirements
  • 100K Recommended
  • 65-75K Per hour

After building a decent foundation on your new account with the above methods, I recommended heading to the Grand Exchange and buying some chocolate bars. You can use a knife on a chocolate bar with no requirements needed to make chocolate dust. At the moment, there is a 14GP margin for each bar you cut into dust, and each inventory takes about 15-20 seconds. Making around 1K or more per minute, depending on how click savy you are.

Note: I recommend setting your inventory up like this, for the most efficient hourly rates.

Method 4 – Buying food from Wydin's Store

  • 1-5K Recommended
  • 70-75K Per Hour

Food Store

Another method that not so many people know about is buying food from Wydins store in Port Sarim. All of the food items that he sells are extremely below Grand Exchange price. With convenient use of the world-hopping feature and banking in Draynor, you could see upwards of 70-75K per hour, depending on market prices. This is an insane goldmine for early starters.

Method 5 – Buying Feather Packs from Gerrant

  • 50-100k Recommended
  • 150-300K Per hour

Feather Store

Buying feather packs has been an extremely good money making method for F2P for as long as I can remember, depending on market prices of feathers which usually sits at 2GP, you can find yourself making anywhere from 100K to 300K PER HOUR. You simply buy 10 feather packs from Gerrant in Port Sarim for 200GP per pack (2,000 coins per 10), and then just open the packs. Hop worlds, rinse repeat.

You will see a profit of 1K gold per 10 packs you open, and if sold for 3gp on the Grand Exchange you will see even bigger margins! Please note however, selling at 3gp can take a few days.. It's up to you if you want to wait for them to sell or not.

Method 6 – Iron/Gold Ore Mining

  • 30/40 Mining Required
  • Pickaxe
  • 35-75K Per Hour

In F2P,, you'll know that mining is an efficient money maker. With low level requirements, you can make quite a bit of gold afking. Of course, at 30 mining you're able to mine Iron Ore which are spotted all across Runescape, this will bring in about 20-50K an hour. Gold Ore at 40 mining can bring in anywhere from 50-125K per hour, depending on your level and luck on mining the ore. Refer to our mining guide for more information on OSRS mining locations.

Method 7 – Wines of Zamorak

  • 33/37 Magic
  • Supply of runes
  • 250-310K Per Hour

The infamous F2P money maker has always been collecting Zamorak Wines deep, deep in the wilderness. With the price of Zamorak Wines always being above 1.5K each, you can see why simply telegrabbing these guys can put out good hourly rates. Of course since its in level 38 wilderness, it is often checked by higher level accounts who will immediately attack you.. Try your best to keep an eye out for these guys and hop worlds before they get the chance!

Wildy Chaos Altar

The quickest route for F2P unfortunately would be from walking all the way from Edgeville bank, north into the deep wilderness to the chaos altar. (Picture above). 37 Magic is recommended to teleport right to falador, and walk from there. This can get tedious, but if you're in it for the long haul.. the grind is worth it!

Method 8 – Creating Blue Dyes

  • No Requirements
  • Good supply of Woad Leaves from method 2 above
  • 60-80K Per Hour

Aggie

If you grinded out method 2 and had collected a nice amount of Woad Leaves from Wyson the Gardener, head over to draynor and speak with Aggie. For 5 coins and 2 woad leaves, she will give you a blue dye which sells on the Grand Exchange for around 240 coins. If you take into account 20 coins buying the leaves, 5 coins purchasing the dye you're looking at a 215GP profit margin per dye! This can stack quickly, especially if you stayed collecting them for awhile.
